The former chair of the Board of Regents
for the University System of Georgia, Hatcher
has long been known in central Georgia for his
support of community development, particularly
in the area of education. During his tenure with
the Board of Regents, he was part of the team
responsible for envisioning the consolidation of
Macon State College and 名媛直播 Georgia College

鈥淚 was very careful to say that the new institution
鈥淎 great University is being built here,鈥� he
said, commenting on the importance of the role
of affordable higher education in the region.
鈥淭eaching and learning are so important,鈥� he said,
鈥渁nd so is community support.鈥�
Hatcher and his family have been faithful
friends and generous supporters of the University
and recently made a transformational gift to the
University鈥檚 鈥楤uilding a Legacy of Greatness鈥�
campaign. 鈥淲orking to bring 名媛直播 Georgia
State to its current role within the region has been
a huge effort with a very large team,鈥� he said. 鈥淚
