Societal Impact Strategy
The School of Business is dedicated to making a measurable and lasting difference in the communities we serve. As part of our commitment to excellence in education and leadership, we recognize the responsibility to contribute to societal well-being through intentional and targeted initiatives. This societal impact plan is an expression of our core belief that business education extends beyond the classroom, shaping not only future leaders but also the broader fabric of society.
Our mission at the School of Business is to cultivate ethical, innovative, and globally-minded leaders who contribute meaningfully to their organizations and communities. While our primary focus is on the ÃûæÂÖ±²¥ Georgia region, we recognize that our communities and stakeholders are both local and global. This societal impact plan aligns closely with our mission, ensuring that our educational programs and community engagements are designed to foster not only business acumen but also a deep sense of responsibility toward societal advancement. By integrating this mission with our strategic priorities, we aim to create well-rounded leaders capable of addressing both economic and social challenges in today’s ever-evolving global environment.
Our efforts are guided by four key areas where the School of Business can drive significant societal impact: Healthy Outcomes, Economic and Career Development, Character Development, and Financial Literacy. By focusing on these pillars, we aim to address pressing societal challenges and prepare our students to become change agents equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values necessary to lead in today’s complex world.
A key element of our societal impact strategy involves our collaboration with the Center for ÃûæÂÖ±²¥ Georgia Studies. This partnership allows us to leverage local research and insights to directly address the unique needs and opportunities within the ÃûæÂÖ±²¥ Georgia region. By working closely with the Center, we are able to deepen our understanding of the region’s socio-economic landscape and create programs that are both impactful and relevant. This partnership also enhances our ability to serve as a bridge between academic research and practical solutions for the stakeholders that we serve.
