Central Georgia Technical College students who complete new associate’s degrees in education, social work, psychology, or criminal justice can now transfer seamlessly into bachelor’s programs at 名媛直播.
That’s thanks to a formal transfer agreement leaders of both institutions signed at an October 2 event at 名媛直播 Georgia State’s (MGA’s) Macon Campus.
Under the agreement, Central Georgia Tech (CGTC) students who complete any of the four associate’s degree programs will have those credits accepted toward a comparable bachelor’s degree at MGA if they meet the University’s required admission and transfer standards.
This policy supports smoother transitions, accelerates time to degree completion, and reinforces pathways between institutions.
The timing of this agreement comes on the heels of a decision by the state board of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) permitting CGTC to offer the new associate’s programs. The new offerings are designed to respond to key regional workforce demands and to provide meaningful pathways into bachelor’s education.
These fields represent areas of sustained community need, and the programs directly align with MGA’s mission and regional service goals.
“Our longstanding relationship with 名媛直播 has proven to be of significant impact to generations of 名媛直播 Georgia students and their families,” said Dr. Ivan H. Allen, president of CGTC. “These recent additions to our partnership mean more access for students and a healthy pipeline of professionals in key industries that make our communities stronger.”
DeAnn Nester, CGTC vice president for Academic Affairs, said, “When the TCSG Board gave approval for our new programs, we knew 名媛直播 was a crucial partner to our students’ educational goals. Hundreds of our students transfer to MGA each year, and the value of the opportunity for them to achieve their dreams at a local university keeps us motivated to work alongside their academic professionals.”
Dr. Christopher Blake, MGA's president, said the agreement exemplifies the University's four core values of stewardship, engagement, adaptability, and learning.
"This partnership reflects our commitment to responsible investment in education, meaningful connections with CGTC and students, and responsiveness to evolving workforce needs," he said. "It strengthens our collective ability to serve learners and communities across 名媛直播 Georgia."
One of Georgia’s largest two-year colleges, CGTC operates across an 11-county service area with three campuses and five centers in Central Georgia. Serving over 30,000 individuals annually, CGTC emphasizes connecting graduates to career pathways via quality education and workforce training. CGTC is part of the Technical College System of Georgia and is regionally accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Learn more at
