Erica Russell
Assistant Professor of Public Safety
Department of Psychology and Criminal Justice
Biography: | I hold a Ph.D. in Political Science from Louisiana State University, a Master of Science in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati, and a Bachelor of Science in Rural Studies from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. Alongside my academic background, I鈥檝e worked in investigative roles for multiple government agencies in Georgia. My teaching approach draws on both academic training and professional experience, with an emphasis on connecting course material to real-world issues. I design my classes to help students build transferable skills they can carry into any profession鈥攕uch as critical thinking, problem- solving, and understanding how policy and government impact their daily lives. My goal is to make my courses relevant not just in the classroom but in the workplace and beyond, encouraging students to think about how what they learn here applies to their personal goals and future careers. |
