CV: | Curriculum Vitae Teri Jackson, DNP, MSN, APRN, AGNP-C Assistant Professor of Nursing Work Email address: teri.jackson@mga.edu Phone number: Office: 478-471-5369 Education Doctor of Nursing Practice 8/2021-5/2024 Augusta University Master of Science in Nursing 1/2013-12/2014 University of Alabama at Birmingham Bachelor of Science in Nursing 8/2003-5/2007 Georgia College & State University Statement of Teaching Teaching is a vital part of nursing, and since graduating, I have devoted my career to educating patients, families, communities, and students. To teach is to share knowledge and inspire its application in practice, grounded in the core nursing values of caring and compassion.鈥 My philosophy emphasizes engaging students in their learning, connecting content to practice, fostering critical thinking, and creating meaningful learning activities. I strive to build a positive, respectful, and inclusive environment that is both nurturing and challenging. Open communication is key, and I make myself available through office hours, appointments, email, and virtual meetings while maintaining professional mentor鈥搈entee relationships.鈥 As nursing and education evolve, I adapt my teaching by integrating technology, maintaining structure through syllabi and objectives, and staying flexible when adjustments are needed. Reflection and student feedback guide me to continually refine my approach, as I believe teaching and learning are reciprocal processes.鈥 Ultimately, my goal is not simply to graduate more nurses but to prepare compassionate, competent professionals who will thrive at the bedside and beyond鈥攁s leaders, mentors, and advocates for change. I remain committed to growing alongside my students and colleagues to improve patient outcomes and the nursing profession.鈥 Scholarly Presentations: 2024 鈥淚mplementation of Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) Dietary Counseling to Combat Hypertension and Obesity in Primary Care,鈥 名媛直播 MSN AGACNP Summer Immersion Day & Augusta University DNP Project Conference 2022 鈥淎n Innovative Approach to Preparing Senior Students for a Professional Environment,鈥 virtual presentation, MGA SOAL faculty conference & podium state-level presentation, GANE 2022 Annual Conference聽 2022 鈥淧robiotic Use as an Emerging Potential Pharmacological Approach in the Treatment of Alzheimer's Disease," poster presentation Augusta University |
