| Biography: | Dr. Flounnory has been a practicing Certificated Flight Instructor since 2002, specializing in Commercial, Multi-Engine, and Instrument Flight Training. He is a 28 year educational professional who has worked with students of all ages while serving as a math and science teacher, and school administrator within a major Georgia school district. The last nine years of his career, he served the district as the Executive Director of Public Safety, in which he provided leadership to the district's police department, District Health Services, and Emergency Management Departments. Prior to joining the faculty of ÃûæÂÖ±²¥, he was most recently contracted at a part 141 flight school in the metro Atlanta area, providing mult-engine, instrument and commercial flight training, as well as with a local College and Career Academy providing certification and training for initial licensure for Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (sUAS) for enrolled high school students. During his spare time, he continues to flight instruct as well as contract with varying local law enforcement agencies providing certification courses for commercial drone licensure (FAR part 107) for the agency's prospective drone pilot candidates. Currently, he resides in Sharpsburg, Georgia with his wife and two daughters. To the University, he brings his passion for both education and aviation. |
